New features

• Improve monitoring of your endpoints by having a default location. All agents that are newly-deployed or are not currently associated with a location will now be assigned to the default group. You can always deploy agents and directly assign them to any group of your choice by including the registration keys created at Admin > Agents. Learn more about managing locations in our Creating and managing organizations, locations, and devices article.

• Send feedback directly to our product team by clicking the (Send Feedback) icon in the EDR toolbar.

  

• When Datto EDR detects ransomware on an endpoint, you can elect to automatically shut down the impacted machine. Learn more in Understanding Datto EDR's ransomware detection

Enhancements

• To reduce the volume of false-positive reputation events, we have raised the alerting threshold. Datto EDR security subject matter experts defined this new threshold to provide more actionable reputation alerts. For more details about responding to threats, refer to Working with the Alerts page

• If you leverage the RMM + EDR integration, we have opened access to manage your Ransomware and Windows Defender Antivirus policies from Datto EDR. To learn how to manage policies, check out our Working with the Policies page article.

• To improve the value provided by your EDR reports, this release removes the following less-used reports:

  • Threat Reports: By Threat and By Host

  • Asset Reports: Hosts and Applications

  • Vulnerability Report and Vulnerability Report - By Host

  You can continue to leverage the new Executive Threat Report for critical aggregated information about activity in your protected environment.
