Enhancements

Agent update process

We have improved the agent update process. This will reduce the number of devices that may get stuck in the upgrade process.

Deploying EDR agents via RMM

Datto EDR agents deployed via Datto RMM are occasionally installed in non-standard folders. This caused the EDR service to stop and fail to restart. Re-installing the EDR agent would also fail because leftover files from the previous installation were still present.

IMPORTANT  Some RMM users may discover inactive or stale devices in EDR. The agents can be repaired by adding and running the component Datto EDR Force Reinstall and Upgrade [WIN] from the RMM ComStore. This component will force a reinstallation of the EDR and AV agents into the correct RMM folders and repair the agent services.

RMM integrated EDR agent sync

RMM integrated EDR agents may have lost sync on occasion. This resulted in EDR agents not showing as RMM synced agents and therefore, being assigned to non-synced locations. EDR agents will now perform additional checks across the RMM agent folder to locate the RMM agent IDs that are required for a successful device sync.

Bug fixes

  • For some partners, refreshing their Dashboard was not working as expected. This was caused by an unexpected return value which caused the refresh to fail. Refreshing the Dashboard now displays up-to-date for the current week for all partners.
  • We discovered some response actions reporting as Active in the UI even though the action was completed. This has been addressed and response actions will now be report accurately on the state of the response.
  • Some users may have noticed an error or AV service failing. Please disable the AV policy for affected locations for five minutes and then re-enable the AV policy. This will force the AV update and install the upgraded DLLs.

Reminder

Datto AV installer will automatically determine if it should install using a legacy or current package based on the operating system requirements. The legacy installer (Windows 7 SP1 or higher, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or higher) does automatically enable windows firewall which should be considered prior to deploying to the legacy Windows versions.
